Course of Study

The Institute for Healthcare Excellence's course of study integrates three important components. These include enrollment in an outstanding academic graduate program in healthcare administration; becoming a U.S. nurse within the first 12 months; and a dynamic work-study program.

Whether a student decides to attend Northwest Christian University or Sullivan University, IHE concurrently prepares our students to become licensed to practice as registered nurses in the United States within the first year.

Academic Program:

We currently offer our academic program in collaboration with Northwest Christian University (NCU) in Eugene, Oregon USA and with Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky, USA..  Our program for international nurses with the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree is offered at both Northwest Christian University and Sullivan University. Our program for nurses with a three-year nursing diploma is only offered at Sullivan University.

Northwest Christian University:  The Master of Business Administration with a concentration in health care administration is a 48-credit program taught over 15, three-credit courses. The course of study is designed to be comfortably completed over three years. U.S. Nursing Licensure Preparation Program

We have developed a program where our students become licensed to work as U.S. registered nurses within the first year.  The program begins with nurse application assessment and concludes with the passing of the NCLEX-RN, the national required exam to practice as a registered nurse in the U.S. Our training program is time-tested and delivered in collaboration with a leading U.S. nurse-training provider. Throughout the licensure preparation program, our students are enrolled and taking classes in the graduate healthcare program.

Our nursing licensure preparation program is comprised of three major parts. Part one includes applying for nursing licensure to the state board of nursing including academic nursing credential review and demonstration of English-language competency.

Part two includes seminars in understanding the U.S. Healthcare system and the particulars of the U.S. nursing practice.

Part three includes in-depth training to take the NCLEX-RN. Preparation includes in-class sessions, content videos, live training worships, and readiness assessment. The training is intensive requiring a substantial commitment.

“Earn-While-You-Learn” – Work Study Program

Our program is designed to allow international nurses to earn their tuition and living expenses while completing their education. After making an initial payment, international nursing students are legally authorized to earn the required funds to finance their education and living expenses.

The program enables students to work in healthcare or other jobs shortly after arriving in the United States and beginning of our master’s program in healthcare administration. Within the first year, students will become U.S. licensed nurses working in U.S. healthcare institutions such as hospitals, long-term care facilities, and medical practices – earning great salaries.
